Omega
Omega Seamaster Chronograph ref. 145.016 in 18k yellow gold is the kind of vintage Omega that only gets better the closer you look. Dating to the late 1960s to early 1970s, it pairs a 38 mm solid-gold case with Omega’s manual-wind calibre 861, but what really sets this one apart is the execution. Full gold, unpolished, and far rarer than most people realise.
The unpolished case matters here. On a watch with this much shape and presence, preserving the original lines makes all the difference. Add the gold bracelet and you get a version of the 145.016 that auction houses have repeatedly classified as rare, and with good reason: these do not surface often, and even less so in this kind of condition.
Not your usual vintage Omega, and definitely not a quiet one. Heavy, sharp, and full of early-1970s attitude, this is the sort of watch that feels both overlooked and seriously special at the same time.
