Presented here is a vintage Rolex Day-Date reference 18238 from 1994. The watch is powered by the Rolex calibre 3155. This movement introduced the double quickset function, allowing both the day and date to be adjusted independently through the crown.
The reference 18238 was produced from 1988 until 2000. It succeeded the earlier reference 18038 and was later replaced by reference 118238. The watch features a 36 mm yellow gold case and is fitted with a sapphire crystal.
In our view, the reference 18238 offers one of the most classic and balanced Day-Date designs. It combines the traditional proportions of the five-digit generation with modern practicality and everyday usability.
The S997XXX serial number dates the watch back to 1994. It is fitted with the legendary President bracelet in 18K yellow gold.
