GMT-Master 1675
GMT-Master 1675
Rolex
Presented here is a Rolex GMT-Master reference 1675. The watch is powered by the Rolex calibre 1570 automatic movement with GMT function, allowing the tracking of a second time zone. Introduced in the 1950s in collaboration with Pan Am, the GMT-Master was originally designed for pilots and quickly became one of Rolex’s most iconic sport models.
The reference 1675 was produced from approximately 1959 until 1980 and is one of the longest-running GMT-Master references. The watch features a 40 mm stainless steel case and is fitted with an acrylic crystal. Its “Pepsi” bezel, with red and blue colours, was designed to differentiate between day and night hours and has since become one of the most recognisable designs in watchmaking.
The 1952XXX serial number dates the case back to 1969. The watch features a matte dial and a beautiful aluminium Pepsi bezel insert. It is fitted with a rare Oyster stretch bracelet and has recently been fully serviced.
Why we love it:
The GMT-Master 1675 is one of the most iconic vintage Rolex models ever made. We especially love the combination of the Pepsi bezel and the rare Oyster stretch bracelet, which gives the watch a real vintage character. The overall condition of this example is excellent, with thick lugs. The patina of the hands and tritium lume plots has aged beautifully over time, showing a warm and even tone that perfectly matches the character of the watch.
Good to know:
This watch features a Mk5 dial. The case dates back to 1969, while the dial is from a slightly later period, which is not uncommon for vintage Rolex watches.
