Datejust 1601 'Ghost'

Presented here is a very rare vintage Rolex Datejust reference 1601. The watch is powered by the Rolex calibre 1570 automatic movement and features the classic date function.

The reference 1601 was produced from approximately the late 1950s until the late 1970s and is one of the most iconic vintage Datejust references. The watch features a 36 mm stainless steel case with a fluted whitegold bezel and is fitted with an acrylic crystal.

The 3135XXX serial number dates the watch back to 1972. It features a rare “ghost” dial with white printing. Depending on the light, the text becomes more or less visible, why its named the 'ghost'.

Obviously because of the ghost dial. It makes this watch very special.

There is a small damage on the dial at 12 o'clock.
