Datejust Patina
Datejust Patina
Rolex
The Rolex Datejust ref. 162XX series, introduced in 1988, replaced the previous ref. 160XX range with minimal aesthetic changes. The updated caliber and crystal were the main differences, with the new reference number reflecting these updates. The ref. 162XX's movement was similar to its predecessor.
The ref. 16220, introduced in 1989, replaced the previous ref. 16030 and was the last Datejust model to feature a specific bezel type no longer used by Rolex. It strikes a balance between a dress piece and an everyday watch, appealing to those who appreciate vintage looks with modern engineering.
The Cal. 3135 movement, found in the ref. 162XX series, improved upon the previous Cal. 3035 with subtle changes, such as a higher beat frequency and increased power reserve.
