The Cartier Santos was originally created in 1908 for aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, making it one of the first wristwatches designed specifically for flying. Its square case and clear, legible dial were practical innovations for pilots back in the days. This is Cartier doing casual, but still Cartier. The ref. 2960 is a lesser-known gem from the early '90s that ditched the gold, kept the charm, and went full stainless steel. With its rounded rectangular case and those signature Roman numerals marching around the dial, it’s got all the old-school Cartier DNA, just without shouting about it. The crown still rocks the blue cabochon (because of course it does), and the sword hands slice through time like they’re late for dinner. Sized at a wearable 29mm, this one leans into the unisex vibe before it was cool. Cartier didn’t make tons of these all-steel 2960s, and most people still don’t know what they’re looking at. Which is exactly why it’s fun to wear.
